Plan de Corones Ski Hotel Guide - Ski accommodation

Plan de Corones

The call of the mountains is ever-present and permeates life up here. The Kronplatz mountain, with its 2,275 meters high summit and its beloved bald head, is visible from every vantage point in the valley. It may not be the most beautiful mountain in the world, nor the highest, nor the most striking, but it is a sturdy specimen and an ideal skiing mountain with three sides to conquer.

Ski & Snowboard
The early bird... Try this: drag yourself out of bed, have an early breakfast and head for the mountain to be up at the summit before anyone else. Take a deep breath and enjoy the smell of the crisp morning air. Then click into your bindings and make your way down to Olang on firm smooth snow. The upper section of the slope is best for carving.

Then change to tighter turns and another rhythm and zigzag slowly down to Olang. If you manage to go down the whole run without stopping – well done! From the valley station ride up again to the summit, get on the Sylvester piste and ski down to Reischach. This legendary ski run makes every skiing enthusiast’s heart beat faster. By the time you get to Reischach, some of the other skiers will finally have made their way out of bed and start showing up at the lifts.

Cross country ski
We belong to the newly founded organisation „Dolomiti NordicSki“, European’s biggest cross-country ski trail system, which today already comprises about 1,000 km cross-country ski runs in South Tyrol. We are the heart of the region. We have about 180 km of cross-country ski runs in our region – a long way to go!

Our mountains are also ideal for ski and snowshoeing tours. Let yourself be led by the experienced Alpine Ski and Mountaineering School Pustertal (Alpinschule Pustertal) – whether you are beginner or want to try out the virgin powder snow or firn. The frontier crossing from the Gsiesertal valley to Villgraten or from the Rasen in Antholzertal valley to the Defreggental valley is certainly a spectacular experience.

The sliding renaissance goes on. Tobogganing is absolutely trendy! The Kronplatz Holiday Region has a wealth of toboggan runs...
