Ciampedie

The over 16 km of scenic ski-runs in this area, with snow guaranteed by artificial snow systems, can be reached by cableway from Vigo di Fassa and chairlift from Pera di Fassa.

A truly superb view can be admired from the aptly named Ciampedie (which means God's field) at 2,000 metres a.s.l., toward the Catinaccio range - aka Rosengarten - with the Torri del Vajolet, as well as Sassolungo, Sella, Marmolada, Sasso Vernale, the ridge of mount Costabella, Buffaure, Monzoni and Vallaccia. The area is especially family-friendly, and features a baby park where children are taught to ski by the Vigo ski school's staff.

All fun, though rather demanding, is the 4.5 km Thoeni slope running from Ciampedie down to Vigo di Fassa. The more demanding skiers can tackle the black ski-run named after Alberto Tomba, a tribute to the fact the world-class skiing champion had elected this run his favourite training ground for many years. Numerous main facilities and amenities can be found here, including equipment rental, and also mountain huts for taking tasty and relaxing breaks.
