Obersaxen Ski Hotel Guide - Ski accommodation

Obersaxen

The holiday region of Obersaxen-Mundaun-Val Lumnezia stretches from Ilanz in the valley in Surselva in Grisons in one direction up to the holiday region of Obersaxen on a high plateau overlooking the upper reaches of the Anterior Rhine and, in the other, to the Val Lumnezia. Common to both areas is the long chain of the Mundaun mountains in between, a popular region for hiking and skiing.

Twenty ski lifts provide convenience to folks traveling to each and every run on the resort grounds.  With 120 km of runs there is something for every level of ability to enjoy.  There are 8 black runs totaling 20 km, 22 red runs totaling 40 km, and 22 blue runs totaling 60 km.

Other Activities
Cross country ski trails are available as an option to downhill skiing.  There are 35 km of cross country trails and ample winter hiking trails for exploration.  Outdoor sports enthusiasts will enjoy basking in the sun while taking in the crisp mountain air.

Summer
In the charming scenery of this region, there are countless opportunities for hiking and a number of interesting themed walks. A hikers’ bus brings walkers to the starting point for their excursion. For mountain bikers, there is a network of marked routes in this region. Hikers and bikers in the Val Lumnezia can recover from a strenuous day with a swim in the lake at Davos Munts near Vattiz. For excursions, the Valser valley with its new thermal baths, the holiday region of Flims, the monastery at Disentis or the town of Chur are all within easy reach.
