Villars-Gryon Ski Hotel Guide - Ski accommodation

A very varied ski area, offering something for everyone from trails for children (free access for children under 9 years of age) with a moving carpet, carrousel and rope tow, to trails for skilled skiers, not to mention the magnificent snowpark on the Chaux-Ronde trail, Villars-Gryon is an ideal destination for spending unforgettable winter holidays with your family.

Cross-country skiing
Cross-country ski tracks and trails criss-cross the entire Villars-Gryon region, in total about 50 km through areas of undisturbed silent natural beauty. 50 km of tracks and trails allow you to access the most remote corners of the region departing from the Col de la Croix road, des Frasses (above Barboleuse), des Chaux, de Cergnement or Bretaye. In general, you can use the skating technique on all the trails with the exception of some sections on the road. On your way, you will find mountain huts with typical charm, which serve refreshments to recharge your batteries before continuing your uphill effort or attacking the downhill challenge.

Ice skating
Come and whirl around with your family or friends on the indoor ice rink in Villars or on the outdoor ice rink in Gryon. Between the training of our hockey teams and our young artistic skaters, the Centre des Sports of Villars welcomes you onto its large ice rink during the winter. Night skating is scheduled regularly.

In winter and summer, experience the sensation of flying like a bird. On your skis, you take off for a flight above the snow-covered peaks opposite a panorama that leaves you breathless. From the Mont-Blanc mountain range, to the Dents-du-Midi, to the Upper Savoy Mountains, all the highest peaks of the region extend before you. Villars-Gryon is located in an impressive amphitheatre of mountains, which forms a barrier against the prevailing winds, and thus facilitates the sport of paragliding.

Telemark skiing
Telemark skiing, the technique of our ancestors, is experiencing a great comeback on our slopes. Gracious and elegant, the telemark style is the precursor of modern skiing and yet it is increasingly regaining popularity in our region as well as in the Nordic countries. Although it is true that this sport commands admiration with regard to its technique, it is nevertheless accessible to everyone.

Ski touring
With sealskins on your skis you can set out to conquer the snow-covered peaks, the descent is the reward for the effort. Far from the ski lifts, the mountains present themselves in their natural and wild state. The mountain guides from Villars-Gryon will accompany you on the most beautiful off-trail touring routes with sealskins on your skis, to let you benefit fully and safely from this sports activity.
